Got Anxiety? 7 Minutes of Stress Relief and Relaxation

image relaxed and free from anxietyHappy New Year :) .

May you and your loved ones be blessed with peace, health, and (because I don’t want to sound too sappy) a judicious amount of psychological ass-kicking where needed in 2012, and beyond.

To listen to this relaxation meditation I use with my psychotherapy clients, click the link below for your free audio mp3 7-minute visualization and passive muscle relaxation exercise. Feel free to download and share, too.

Go mental health!

Thanks for providing this exercise. I’ll be using it with my coaching clients. Since it’s downloadable, it may make its way to a few friends and a very tense family member.

I’ve been actively meditating for years. There’s no other (non-medicinal or substance-related) method for bringing calm and relaxation.

Thanks for sharing Sara. I’ve been saying for years that I’m going to meditate daily. Maybe 2012 is the year…:).

    Irene–

Yes! I’m always thinking that I need to take my own clinical advice/read my blog posts. Not that the posts are that great, but just b/c my anxiety is prone to spikes just like everyone else’s.

If only I always sounded so relaxed–oh gawd, now I need to listen to the calm version of me, too—no thanks ;) .

Let’s support one another in taking better care of our minds and souls. I look forward to connecting with you a lot in 2012. You definitely made my 2011 a better year. Thanks friend :) .

Thanks for sharing this meditation. It is more relaxing for me to hear another person’s voice rather than my own for relaxation. Your pace is great and your voice is calming.

Haha JoAnn! I feel like it’s much more relaxing to hear another’s voice, as well. Thanks for your kind words–I tried to mindful that the pace couldn’t be too slow since our universal attention spans are so short, and my fear that 7 minutes would be too long…:).

Thanks for sharing this, I love it! I also put it on my phone, so I can meditate and relax during the way from the office to home. It maybe will help me to relax after a busy and upset day in the office, when I arrive home I could be nice to the family.

That was soothing. I used to work for stress clinic and used to practice this on my patients. I am so glad I got a chance to do this after so long.

Yes, your voice is soothing; that helps a lot!

Not that I’m loathe to admit this, but you really do have a soft and soothing voice. The only problem being your “other” voice sticks in my head. As in the more common, pedestrian variation :x .

    Hi Linda
Happy new year and thanks for the gift. I’ll pass it on to Laura, my wife too. She could certainly use it, living with me.

Lovely to hear you to talk to me.
